I am a 1991 Sam Rayburn High School graduate.
I began my college education at the Univeristy of North Texas and then finished at Texas A&M University at Commerce with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education.
I began teaching at Dodd City Elementary in the fall of 1995. This is my 23rd year of teaching, all of which have been in First Grade at Dodd City. I teach reading, math, writing, spelling, science and social studies. I believe that a strong literacy foundation will enable a child to achieve anything they choose to set their mind to.
I absolutely loved my First Grade teacher that I had in Bryan, Texas. I was not a strong reader and through her dedication, along with my parents at home, helped me develop a love of reading and learning. I hope to instill the same in my students each year.
Together will can make this year a success for your child.
I am happily married to “Mr. Rodney”. We married on a hot and humid day in August of 1992. We have three children, Hunter, Caleb and Sarah. All three of my children are Dodd City Hornets. I also have one dog, a toy Aussie, named Kimber.
My son Hunter has a Lab named CoCo.
We enjoy spending time together, especially riding ATVs both around our home and in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Colorado.
I enjoy spending time with my family, photography, reading, riding ATVs and supporting our Dodd City Hornets!
