I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. My education certification was obtained in 1995 from the University of Houston. In 2013, I earned the Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
I am currently ending my first year as Elementary Principal. Working with the students of Dodd City and their families, makes this the best job in the world!
My teaching career began in Celeste ISD where I taught for 13 years in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. From there, I taught 5th grade Bilingual Language Arts in Greenville ISD. Every child, every year, and every class has been an opportunity for growth as an educator. My personal philosophy is that every person can grow and improve in their craft, no matter the field, or their years experience.
My family is my life’s greatest work. Steve and I have been married for 24 years and we have two daughters, Carly and Abby. As a couple, our professional lives are rooted in Fannin County. After working in Hunt County schools for 15 years, I am happy to now serve the citizens of the county where I reside. Steve has been owner of a local business for 10 years. Carly is a recent graduate of The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with degrees in Accounting and International Business. She is my “wanderer,” and is happiest when she is out and about having one of her “adventures.” Abby is a junior at Texas A&M University in College Station, where she is majoring in Ag Education. Abby is my “outdoors” girl, and is happiest cruising a backroad in an ATV...preferably getting muddy.
In my spare time, I enjoy purusing junk stores, reading, and watching sunsets from my porch.
